The Cause of Suffering:
The reason why we experience suffering is due to the belief in separation. We believe we are the body/mind - a separate entity - an individual.
God is not some entity that sits in the sky. God is Life and created us in his likeness and image. There is no Life outside of God. God is the totality of life and within all living things. We are LIFE. Not the form life takes, but Life itself and this life is One.
If we look into Jesus’s teachings we find verses that point to Oneness:
(Matt 6:24) Jesus said we can’t serve two Masters. This is the belief in duality: Good and bad and suggest that we become “single eyed”.
So what could “single eyed” mean?
Again we look to Jesus teachings and find:
To #2 - Jesus asks us to be perfect…not to become perfect. We are already perfect…because we are not the body/mind - but Spirit and Spirit (God) is beyond duality of good and bad, but perfect and can therefore have only created us (as spirit) perfect -In his likeness and image.
Sin means error thinking and yes, we are all “born into sin” because we are born into the world of form, but our true Self is not capable of sin. Babies born into the world are still free of sin. Only when the belief in separation starts forming within mind…does sin (error thinking) start. That is why Jesus said that heaven belongs to such as these (Matt. 19:14).
The belief in a separation from God leads us to believe that we are the form, rather than One with that which gives life to form - this belief is “sin- error thinking” which leads to suffering and can be summoned up into desire and loss through attachment.
For form can not feed us (loss through attachments) nor still the thirst (desire) we have for Truth.
End of Suffering
To end suffering we must surrender our heart, our mind and our soul to God. Meaning, surrender our attachments (belongings), our knowledge and our very being to God.
This is according to Jesus's teachings of the greatest commandment: Matt. 22:36
Heaven/Nirvana/Bliss
Jesus as well as Buddha were tempted three times and both on the same subjects, which they resisted before enlightenment took place.
We must empty ourselves surrender our attachments, surrender our knowledge and surrender our very life into God hands before Truth can enter and Bliss take up all space.
