A lot of teachers speak of the present. But what is the present? The present is just that..the present moment. Most of us don't live in the present moment, but in the past or future.
Our focus of attention is what determines the "time". Meaning if our attention is on the past we experienced, we are " reliving" the past in the present moment. With other words we have filled the present moment with thoughts of the past. So too with thoughts of the future.
In order to live in the present moment we need to first become aware of our thoughts. When we become aware that our attention is moving away from the present moment (you are now reading this post) simple bring your attention to the present.
To stay in the present moment takes practice, because we have created a habit of living either in the past or future, which fills us with either resentment or fear.
Only the present is real and not of an image imagined. Through out the day become aware of the present moment of whatever you are doing. This will help you feel more alert, rested, energized and positive.
