In Advaita Vedanta, it is said that things that are changing, perceived and impermanent are unreal. What is the logic behind this statement?
Everything of this world has a beginning and an end -what was born must die. Everything of this world is therefore subject to change. Change brings about good and bad: ups and downs, pain and pleasure.
There is however one thing that will never change: the Self.
Everything about you is subject to change: your body, your thoughts, your beliefs and so on. The Self however is not the body nor your mind….the Self is life/Spirit itself and within you.
You can not perceive the Self with any of your senses. In other words what you perceive with your senses is subject to change and therefore said to be unreal. Only that which never changes is real.
